Manicures
The purpose of a manicure is to keep the hands and nails in good condition. Correct shaping can help to strengthen fragile or weak nails and caring for the cuticles keeps the nail attractive and healthy.
Towards the ends of the manicure you will receive a massage which promotes good circulation to the area of the hands and forearms improving the texture and softness of the skin.
Nail Varnish can be applied to the nails at the end of the treatment. A base coat will be applied first, this will help the polish to last longer as well as preventing it from staining the nail. Two coats of colour are then applied to the nails before a top coat which, again, will keep your nails looking freshly manicured for longer.
Cuticle oil or cream can be applied to each nail daily, preferably at night, and almond oil can be rubbed into the hands before bed to continue your hand and nail care at home.
Pedicures
The pedicure is designed to make the foot more attractive as well as removing hard skin and reviving tired and aching feet.
Pedicures tend to be more popular in the spring and summer months when the feet are on show but it is important to continue your foot care right the way through the year to maintain a healthy condition. Very often feet are neglected, leaving them vulnerable to problems like bad circulation and athlete's foot. Having a regular pedicure discourages the build up of hard skin and ingrowing toe nails leaving your feet in tip top condition!
As with the manicure, polish can be applied to the nails leaving your feet looking beautiful.
You can continue your foot care at home by making sure you dry them thoroughly after bathing or showering and by applying a good cream at night which will minimise any hard skin from building up between appointments.
At Beyond Beauty we use products from the Jessica range for all our manicures and pedicures, please see the products page for more details.
